Book: Yours legally
Author : Sonia Sahijwani
Blurb : A young girl Sia has recently finished her graduation in Law against her parent’s wishes. With absolutely no family background in the legal profession, she sets out to explore the various opportunities this not so common but upcoming field of law brings her way. Written in the form of short stories and inspiredby some true events, the author, through the protagonist Sia, narrates to us few such unusual and memorable incidents including some eccentric court room dramas, all of which left a deep impact in her life. This debut book one is an honest attempt to talk about law with a dash of satire, with an aim to reach out to all those who may or may have never heard anything about the legal profession nor would have ever stepped inside a court. And for those who are a part of it already, they might relate to it in some way. Just read along and enjoy the short but bumpy ride…..
Review : To begin with, I really loved the concept of the cover. The seal with the author’s name looks unique. It could have been little more attractive, but even this one also looks good.
This book is a collection of 6 short stories that revolves around Sia’s legal profession. I am not from a law background but I enjoyed every bit of all stories. With each story, a part of Sia was left with me. I loved the courtroom drama and how it is nothing what I imagined. But honestly this book is worth every bit of a compliment. Language is easy, narration is very strong.
Overall if you feel reading something different, then this book is a must read for you.
